MECHANIC
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform routine servicing, preventive maintenance, and repairs of mechanisation equipment, vehicles, and machinery.
- Diagnose mechanical faults and carry out necessary repairs efficiently.
- Ensure all equipment is maintained in good working condition to support daily operations.
- Respond promptly to breakdowns and minimize equipment downtime.
- Assist in the operation and upkeep of mechanisation equipment (e.g. trucks, tractors, transport vehicles, and other machinery).
- Support implementation of mechanisation programs across the estate.
- Ensure proper handling and usage of equipment to prevent damage.
- Provide feedback on equipment performance and maintenance needs.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the workshop area.
- Ensure proper use, care, and safekeeping of tools and equipment.
- Assist in monitoring spare parts usage and report shortages.
- Ensure all repairs and servicing are properly recorded.
- Follow all safety procedures and workshop SOPs at all times.
- Use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) during work.
- Ensure all machinery and equipment comply with safety standards.
- Report any unsafe conditions or incidents to the supervisor.
- Work closely with the Workshop Supervisor and estate teams to support operational needs.
- Assist other mechanics when required to complete tasks efficiently.
- Carry out any other duties as assigned by the supervisor or Management.
Requirements:
- Certificate / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive, or related field.
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience in machinery or vehicle maintenance (plantation experience is an advantage).
- Basic knowledge of mechanisation equipment and tools.
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair mechanical issues.
- Physically fit and able to work in estate conditions.
- Based in Bintulu, Sarawak (remote area)
