MANUFACTURING & TECHNICAL ENGINEERING

The Production & Technical Engineer also needs to undertake the role as a “Technical Transfer and Manufacturing Training Engineer” whose responsibility is to absorb the know-how from the Chinese specialists and systematically transfer it to the local workforce so the factory can operate independently in the future. This position is also require a candidate with a proven track record as a Production Manager in an export-oriented furniture manufacturing company.

Job Responsibilities: –

1.             Technical Knowledge Transfer

·       Learn and absorb production methods, machinery setup, assembly techniques, and quality standards from our Chinese specialists, and translate that knowledge into clear work instructions for local staff.

2.             Production Training

·       Design and run a structured training programme for new and existing workers, including training schedules and competency assessments to track progress and maintain consistent performance.

3.             Process Standardization

·       Develop and maintain SOPs, work instructions, process flowcharts, quality checklists, and machine setup standards to ensure consistent production practices across all shifts and departments.

4.             Production Improvement

·       Identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies on the production floor and drive improvements in productivity, workflow, material utilization, and labour efficiency alongside production supervisors.

5.             Quality Control Support

·       Ensure workers understand quality and workmanship standards, train them on defect prevention, and help reduce rework, rejections, and customer complaints.

6.             Communication & Coordination

·       Act as the daily link between Chinese specialists, production supervisors, and technical departments, bridging communication gaps and reporting training progress to management.

Requirements

• Minimum qualification: Diploma in any Engineering discipline.
• Minimum 10 years of manufacturing experience, preferably with experience in mass production of furniture or related industries.
• Able to read and understand CAD production technical drawings.
• Able to communicate effectively in English and Bahasa Melayu.
• Experience in Industrial Engineering, Quality Assurance, production processes, and mass production environment will be preferred.
