Business Development Executive


  1. Formulate and agree with Limar Group (LG) senior management a long-term flexible Marketing Strategy for Malesiana Tropicals (MT) Sdn Bhd, and over each financial year execute such strategies, including changes as needed, according to approved milestones.
  2. To handle all product presentations and programs as necessary to optimize MT’s visibility in the marketplace.
  3. To keep abreast of and bring to the attention of MT and LG senior management the dates and venues of appropriate State and National expositions and agro-fests, and, with LG approval arrange attendance of same, including drawing up of budgets and sales predictions for the event.
  4. By means of active discussion work with the lab and nursery staff to ensure that MT product availability is optimal at all times, and as necessary update lab and nursery staff on amendments to production to meet changes in customer demands.
  5. To work closely with lab and nursery staff on new product launches and nationwide promotions, including ensuring a close tie-in of stock availability and predicted sales.
  6. To conduct market research and develop new action plans to counter competitive market environment, including keeping up to date with new product lines that need to be incorporated into the MT production schedule, and to be aware of market trends, activities, and products within the industry, with as needed providing advice on the phase-out of unprofitable or superseded products from the MT portfolio.
  7. To plan and execute the Company’s overall marketing communication programs as well as brand management, via all appropriate means, ensuring that our internet and social media presence is both visible and up-to-date.
  8. To prepare the Annual Marketing Plans and Business Reviews
  9. Manage marketing budget, including ability to negotiate with Limar Group HR and Finance Departments in the case of unforeseen spending requirements.
  10. To carry out audits and put together reports on the performance of clients and partners
  11. To perform any other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time


  • Candidate must possess at least a bachelor’s degree in business/marketing or an equivalent recognized professional qualification.
  • At least four (4) years of related working experience.
  • Must have knowledge of agriculture.
  • Able to multitask and to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Must have commercial experience within the agriculture industry, contacts and network with the industry.
  • Possess strong public relations & interpersonal skills.
  • Results oriented, with good interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Excellent oral presentation and written communication skills at a minimum in BM and English, and ideally one or more local Dayak languages, and if possible, Mandarin.
  • Computer literate and competent in Microsoft Word & Excel, and familiar with social media platforms such as Instagram and Facebook
  • Must be willing to travel to farm and rural sites and attend expositions/agro-fests as necessary.
  • Candidate must possess a valid driver’s license.
