MECHANIC

Responsibilities:

  • Perform maintenance and repairs on heavy equipment in the estate and mill.
  • Monitor the repair of vehicles in the Workshop.
  • Responsible for ensuring that heavy equipment and vehicles are operationally ready.
  • Prepare tools and materials and strategize for any shutdown.
  • Maintain effective lines of communication with the maintenance staff.
  • Analyse and provide suggestions for areas that can be improved.
  • Submit requests for materials in support of daily and planned tasks.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts to improve the efficiency and productivity of the maintenance team.
  • Incorporate safety protocols into the workshop operations.
  • Conducts comprehensive maintenance and repair tasks on mechanical equipment and machinery, while also coordinating the daily work schedule in the workshop.
  • Examine, assess, and troubleshoot all mechanical issues; promptly resolve them while adhering to all company policies and procedures.
  • Ensure a sufficient inventory of spare parts to meet maintenance needs and promote a secure and effective operation.
  • Provide support to the electrical department in the maintenance and repair of electrical equipment as necessary.
  • Maintain 5S housekeeping (sort, set, shine, standardize and sustain) in the designated maintenance areas.
  • Any other responsibilities assigned by The Management from time to time.

Requirements:

  • Possess a D3 or minimum of skilled certificate in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or any other engineering disciplines.
  • Possess knowledge of diesel engines, as well as hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Demonstrates rapid learning ability and easily adjusts to new technologies and challenges.
  • The ability to have a flexible working schedule and working hours.
  • Able to manage multiple projects at the same time while working under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Dedicated to ensuring safety and fostering collaboration within the team.
  • Proficiency in composing reports and fulfilling work orders in accordance with assigned responsibilities.
  • Be ready to respond quickly in case of an emergency.
  • Please note that this position will be a non-executive level.
